Weekend Trip
Sicily in 3 Days: Palermo and Cefalù
The perfect short getaway: Palermo as your base, Cefalù as a day trip, and Monreale on the way to the airport. No need to cross the island.
Baroque, Greek Temples and Dolce Vita
Italy is one of those countries you always want to go back to. We're starting with Sicily, the island where Greeks, Arabs, Normans and Spanish Baroque all collide in a single territory, explored end to end by car.
If you only have a weekend, go for the 3-day getaway (Palermo and Cefalù), or stretch it to 4 days to reach Taormina without heading south. If you have more time, there's our original 5-day route (Palermo, Agrigento, Siracusa and Catania, with Cefalù as a day trip) and the optimised 6-day version that adds Taormina and Naxos to the east. And if the volcano is calling you, we have a separate guide just for the Etna excursion.
We'll keep expanding this hub with our routes through Rome and Naples, so if Italy is on your list, check back here from time to time.
From Palermo to Catania: Baroque architecture, Greek temples and the shadow of Etna.
